Sequoia® pearls are plant-based, vegan, and burn cleanly with minimal smoke or soot. Our pearls are made from certified, sustainably sourced, pure vegetable wax. They contain no paraffin, no soy, and no allergens.
We use natural, non-toxic fragrances to scent our scented versions. Our fragrances are free from phthalates and parabens.

What kind of container can I use?
Most containers will work – you can use what you already have at home or even create your own. Anything is possible with Sequoia®!
Non-flammable containers are recommended, but you can safely use other types as long as they are large enough. The key is to prevent the wick from touching the edge of the container and to make sure the container doesn’t overheat while burning.
As a general rule, the container should be at least 4 inches (10cm) wide at its narrowest point for a single wick. Always test carefully and make sure the container does not get too hot while the candle is burning.
Are they scented?
We sell both unscented and various scented versions. You can see all the fragrance descriptions in the images and dropdown menus.
You can also add your own fragrance by placing a few drops of essential oils or candle fragrance oils near the wick before lighting it.
Can I add my own fragrance?
Yes. Simply choose one of our unscented products and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil or fragrance oil near the wick BEFORE lighting the candle.
Do this at your own risk, keeping in mind that oils are highly flammable and should never be added to a lit candle. You’ll find that some oils work better than others, so experiment carefully until you find the ones you like best.
The user is responsible for any modifications made to the candles.
Do I need to use a new wick every time?
No, you can relight the same wick several times and let it burn for as long as you like. Each wick can burn for around 12 hours. That said, we include plenty of wicks with every Sequoia® so you can refresh your candle as often as you want and keep it looking brand new.
You can also trim the wick and reuse the part that hasn’t been burned yet, or flip the wick over to bury the melt pool, which helps avoid waste while giving your candle a fresh look. Just keep in mind that trimming the wick will shorten its total burn time.
Is it safe for pets?
Yes, our pearls are plant-based, burn cleanly, and are suitable around pets. We always recommend keeping them out of reach of animals, as they are not technically edible and do burn with a real flame. However, you’ll be glad to know that the pearls are non-toxic and should not be harmful if a small amount is accidentally ingested.
You can also feel reassured knowing that pearled candles extinguish themselves if they are accidentally knocked over, as the pearls smother the flame.
Can I make floating candles with Sequoia®?
Yes, absolutely! Our candles are perfect for creating floating candles. Simply fill a vase with water, add any decorations you like, then gently pour the pearls on top. Just make sure the wicks stay dry for the best results.
